Union Public Service Commission यानी UPSC के Annual Calendar 2027 के अनुसार Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2027 की notification 16 सितंबर 2026 के लिए निर्धारित है। आवेदन की अंतिम तारीख 6 अक्टूबर 2026 और Preliminary Examination 31 जनवरी 2027 निर्धारित की गई है। UPSC calendar यह भी स्पष्ट करता है कि जरूरत पड़ने पर exam dates बदली जा सकती हैं।

लेकिन इस बार इस article में हम केवल “notification जारी हुई या नहीं” वाली खबर नहीं बताएंगे।

अभी उपलब्ध UPSC Annual Calendar के आधार पर महत्वपूर्ण schedule यह है:

UPSC ने Annual Calendar 2027 अपनी official website पर 20 मई 2026 को upload किया था। आयोग calendar dates में परिस्थितियों के अनुसार बदलाव कर सकता है, इसलिए उम्मीदवारों को final notification PDF जरूर पढ़नी चाहिए।

सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात

Vacancy count, exact age cut-off date, category-wise relaxation, fee, detailed qualification और service-wise posts final 2027 notification PDF से ही मानें।

2026 या उससे पुराने notice के numbers को 2027 के लिए सीधे copy नहीं करना चाहिए।

UPSC ESE क्या है?

UPSC Engineering Services Examination एक national-level examination है जिसके माध्यम से केंद्र सरकार की विभिन्न technical engineering services और posts के लिए engineers का चयन किया जाता है।

पिछले official ESE notification में examination चार engineering categories के लिए आयोजित किया गया था:

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

UPSC ESE 2026 के official notice में भी यही चार categories सूचीबद्ध थीं।

इन disciplines के candidates विभिन्न central engineering services, departments और technical posts के लिए compete करते हैं।

UPSC ESE को IES क्यों कहा जाता है?

बहुत से candidates इसे IES Exam भी कहते हैं।

लेकिन यहां एक confusion समझना जरूरी है।

Engineering Services Examination को पुराने समय से सामान्य रूप से IES कहा जाता रहा है, जबकि UPSC अलग से Indian Economic Service examination भी आयोजित करता है।

शब्द इस्तेमाल करना ज्यादा स्पष्ट रहता है।

UPSC ESE 2027 किन branches के लिए होगा?

पिछले official ESE structure के अनुसार चार major disciplines हैं:

1. Civil Engineering

Civil branch से जुड़े candidates ESE के Civil Engineering category में आवेदन करते हैं।

पिछले official notice में Central Engineering Service, Central Engineering Service (Roads), Central Water Engineering Service और कुछ railway तथा अन्य central services जैसे posts शामिल थे।

2. Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical candidates के लिए central government की technical services और engineering posts उपलब्ध हो सकती हैं।

3. Electrical Engineering

Electrical discipline से संबंधित engineering services और posts इसमें शामिल होती हैं।

4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

Electronics, Telecommunication और संबंधित notified qualifications वाले candidates इस category में apply कर सकते हैं।

ध्यान दें: आपका degree title अगर इन exact चार names से अलग है, तो केवल branch-name देखकर eligibility assume न करें। Final notification में educational qualification और equivalence rules पढ़ें।

UPSC ESE 2027 Eligibility: कौन आवेदन कर सकता है?

Final 2027 notification PDF आने के बाद eligibility की अंतिम पुष्टि होनी चाहिए।

फिर भी पिछले official notices के आधार पर ESE में मुख्य eligibility conditions सामान्यतः इन क्षेत्रों से जुड़ी होती हैं:

Age
Educational Qualification
Medical standards
Certain post-specific conditions

Educational Qualification

Engineering Services Examination मुख्य रूप से engineering graduates के लिए होती है।

पिछले ESE notices में recognized engineering degree तथा कुछ specified equivalent qualifications के candidates के लिए eligibility provisions रहे हैं।

लेकिन यहां एक बड़ा practical point है:

केवल B.Tech या BE लिखकर article छोड़ देना सही नहीं है

कुछ candidates के पास:

AMIE
foreign engineering degree
specialized engineering qualification
MSc या अन्य technical qualification
equivalent professional qualification

हो सकती है।

ऐसे applicants को final notification के Minimum Educational Qualification section को line-by-line पढ़ना चाहिए।

Final Year Students apply कर सकते हैं?

इस सवाल का answer भी final notification की wording पर निर्भर करता है।

UPSC examinations में कुछ situations में ऐसे candidates provisional basis पर apply कर सकते हैं जिनका qualifying result बाद में घोषित होना हो, लेकिन उन्हें prescribed stage तक qualification proof देना पड़ सकता है।

इसलिए 2027 notification जारी होने के बाद यह जरूर check करें:

क्या candidate closing date तक degree pass होना चाहिए या proof बाद की stage पर दिया जा सकता है?

बिना notification पढ़े final-year eligibility assume न करें।

UPSC ESE 2027 Age Limit क्या होगी?

2027 की exact age calculation के लिए notification में दी गई cut-off date का इंतजार करना जरूरी है।

पिछले ESE recruitment pattern में general candidates के लिए सामान्य age band लगभग 21 से 30 वर्ष रहा है, लेकिन 2027 के लिए exact date-of-birth range notification से ही verify करें।

Category और employment status के आधार पर age relaxation provisions हो सकते हैं, जैसे:

जरूरी सलाह

“मेरी उम्र 30 साल है, इसलिए eligible हूं” इतना देखना पर्याप्त नहीं है।

UPSC एक specific cut-off date निर्धारित करता है।

Eligibility आपकी Date of Birth + prescribed cut-off date से तय होती है।

UPSC ESE में कितने attempts मिलते हैं?

Civil Services Examination की तरह ESE को केवल attempt-count के संदर्भ में समझना सही नहीं होगा।

व्यावहारिक रूप से candidate की eligibility:

age limit + qualification + applicable conditions

से निर्धारित होती है।

इसलिए जब तक official notification कोई specific attempt restriction न दे, सबसे महत्वपूर्ण factor age eligibility रहता है।

UPSC ESE 2027 Selection Process

Engineering Services Examination आम तौर पर तीन stages में होता है।

पिछले official ESE 2026 notice के अनुसार selection scheme थी:

Preliminary / Stage-I
Main / Stage-II
Personality Test / Stage-III

Official notice में Preliminary के 500 marks, Mains के 600 marks और Personality Test के 200 marks दिए गए थे।

यानी पिछले pattern के अनुसार total:

500 + 600 + 200 = 1300 marks

रहा है।

अगर 2027 notification में कोई बदलाव होता है तो नया notice final माना जाएगा।

UPSC ESE Preliminary Exam Pattern

पिछले official scheme के अनुसार Preliminary Stage में दो objective papers होते हैं।

Paper 1

General Studies and Engineering Aptitude

Previous pattern:

Maximum Marks: 200

Paper 2

Candidate की engineering discipline का technical paper।

Previous pattern:

Maximum Marks: 300

इस तरह Preliminary के कुल:

500 marks

होते हैं।

क्या UPSC ESE Prelims में Negative Marking होती है?

हां, पिछले official notification में objective type papers में wrong answers के लिए negative marking का स्पष्ट provision था।

इसका practical मतलब यह है कि:

हर प्रश्न attempt करना जरूरी नहीं है।

अगर answer को लेकर बिल्कुल unsure हैं तो random guessing score को नुकसान पहुंचा सकती है।

UPSC ESE Mains Exam Pattern

Preliminary qualify करने वाले candidates Stage-II यानी Main Examination में पहुंचते हैं।

पिछले official pattern में:

दो conventional engineering papers
प्रत्येक paper 300 marks
प्रत्येक के लिए 3 घंटे
कुल 600 marks

निर्धारित थे।

Mains में केवल objective knowledge पर्याप्त नहीं होती।

Candidate को:

पर भी काम करना पड़ता है।

Personality Test कितने marks का होता है?

पिछले official scheme के अनुसार Stage-III यानी Personality Test:

200 marks

का था।

यह केवल technical viva नहीं समझना चाहिए।

Interview stage में candidate की:

awareness
judgement
communication
suitability for public engineering responsibilities

जैसे aspects देखे जा सकते हैं।

क्या Prelims के marks Final Merit में जुड़ते हैं?

ESE का structure Civil Services Prelims से अलग समझना जरूरी है।

Previous official scheme में Stage-I, Stage-II और Personality Test selection process के हिस्से हैं।

इसलिए candidates को केवल “Prelims qualify करना है” वाली strategy से तैयारी नहीं करनी चाहिए।

UPSC ने नया online application portal शुरू किया है।

Official UPSC website पर भी candidates को examinations के लिए नए online portal की ओर निर्देशित किया गया है।

Previous ESE notice में application process में ये components बताए गए थे:

कौन से Documents पहले तैयार रखें?

Form शुरू करने से पहले documents ready रखने से mistakes कम होंगी।

आवेदन करते समय सबसे बड़ी 7 गलतियां

यह section candidates के लिए notification date से भी ज्यादा useful हो सकता है।

1. गलत Engineering Discipline चुनना

Civil graduate ने गलती से Mechanical select कर दिया तो बाद में समस्या गंभीर हो सकती है।

Submission से पहले branch जरूर check करें।

2. Name mismatch

10th certificate, Aadhaar या अन्य documents में spelling differences हों तो application instructions ध्यान से पढ़ें।

3. DOB गलत भरना

Date of Birth critical eligibility field है।

4. Category गलत चुनना

SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR category selection बहुत सावधानी से करें।

5. पुराना certificate upload करना

अगर category certificate के लिए prescribed date/format है तो वही follow करें।

6. Last day तक इंतजार करना

6 अक्टूबर तक application window रहने की schedule है, लेकिन अंतिम दिन server load या document issue हो सकता है।

7. Final submit से पहले preview न देखना

UPSC application में कुछ details final submission के बाद आसानी से editable नहीं होतीं।

Previous ESE notice में भी submitted registration/CAF details के बदलाव पर restrictions का उल्लेख था।

Vacancy कितनी है?

ESE 2027 vacancy count को official 2027 notification आने से पहले निश्चित नहीं लिखना चाहिए।

तुलना के लिए, ESE 2026 के official notice में लगभग 474 vacancies का उल्लेख था, लेकिन यह 2026 का figure है, 2027 का नहीं।

इसलिए अगर कहीं “UPSC ESE 2027 में 474 vacancies” लिखा दिखाई दे तो सावधानी रखें।

2027 vacancies अलग हो सकती हैं।

क्या Computer Science वाले UPSC ESE दे सकते हैं?

यह बहुत common query है।

31 जनवरी 2027 की Preliminary exam date को आधार मानें तो candidates के पास notification period के बाद सीमित तैयारी समय रहेगा।

तैयारी को तीन हिस्सों में बांट सकते हैं:

अपने branch के major subjects को priority दें।
